A complete service is 6 or 8 new plugs--all 6 or eight plug wires--new distributor cap--fuel filters--air filters--go to a dealer and quit playing around.....the service light is COMPUTER controlled and the dealer needs to reset it to go out. There are sensors on that computer system--you can't even begin to guess which ones are in need of replacement. But everything needs to be done or a service is NOT a service. Do we rely more on an electronic gizmo than our brain?
Maybe you car is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.
I have no idea who or what Autozone is, but a %26quot;misfire in cylinder 1%26quot; could be caused by a number of things.
- Is the combustion pressure high enough to ionise the spark
- is the resistance across the plug out of whack
- breakdown in plug lead
Maybe the problem is in the fuel system.
If the problem really bothers you, spend the money and go to a reputable diagnostic centre.
